
Founded in 2006 in the Greek city of Kavala, located in Imaret and in the house of Mohammed Ali Pasha of Egypt, the Mohammed Ali Research Center (MOHA) is a civic, non-profit, non-governmental organization, recognized by the Greek State as a Research Center (Article 3(2) Law No. 4310/2014). MOHA’s particular objective is the systematic study, recording, documentation and maintenance of the cultural diversity, which is found in the modern world and in the wider area of the Mediterranean and the near East. Based on the above, MOHA aims to praise the islamic civilization and the numerus benefits, that it has brought to Western cultural and scientific development throught educational programs, artistic events, and social interventions.

MOHA's educational program
MOHA’s activities are dedicated to researching and popularizing humanity sciences, the scientific inventions and technological innovations of the Islamic Golden Age in a strictly non-religious, non-political environment. Our scientific research is supported and conducted by scientists, engineers, historians and social scientists from the world’s leading universities, cultural foundations, museums and centers of learning. In this context, MOHA implements various educational programs, conferences, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, art events, publications, and scientific studies.
